That my Western Civ class was cancelled due to low enrollment, so after much deliberation I've decided to take Professor P's American Films class... I had to actually go up to the school yesterday at lunch to register, because the online registration thing was acting wacky. So I'll be taking classes from the same teachers that I had last semester... haha! They can be my source of stability since my life has been turned upside down for the last few weeks :) Actually, I'm feeling pretty stable... I'm moving in to my new place this weekend... I'm still really happy about my roommate... I feel like I've known her for years! :) Of course it just had to snow this weekend since I'm moving.... oh well. I'm taking some stuff over tonight... things that never made it out of my trunk, hehe.

Oh, but back to school... here's the email I got back from Professor P:

Well then my prayers have been answered! I still don't have access to the list of enrolled students or surely I would have emailed you to say: "Yahoo!!"

Morning Professor P!

Just wanted to warn you that I signed up for your American Films class ;-) My Western Civ class got cancelled due to low enrollment, so I'll see you tomorrow night!

Lauren

I'm teacher's pet... so sue me! haha... this should be a cool class because Professor P loves movies (maybe that's why she's teaching this one?) and I'd love to get her insight. So all we do pretty much is watch movies for the entire semester. Sounds easy enough to get another A! We'll probably have to do movie reviews or something, but I think that'll be a lot of fun for me... that's the kind of stuff that I love to write. Yay.

Hmm... what else. Oh! Last night I met Tiff out for dinner at Red Brick Station... had a lot of fun, went to Tar-jay afterwards, bought some towels. I'm holding off on the more major bathroom purchases because Heather (my roomie) wants to come & we'll pick stuff out together. I'm going to Marshall's today at lunch to see what they have... Dyanna was saying that she buys her sheets there, so I'm going to take a look.

I'm really disappointed that I haven't gotten any drunken phone calls from New Orleans, but oh well. Drunken phone calls are the best! :) Voicemails are even better, because then there's evidence, lol.

Well I'm really overwhelmed with work right now, so I'd better get some of it done. I have to email my aunt terri, too.. I've been meaning to but keep forgetting.

........ that I really need to get to Boston? My friend Sue is in a cover band called Velvet Jones and I want to see them. :) Over the weekend we were all discussing places that we want to go & I kept saying how much I want to go back to Boston... so I think that I'll probably make it up there in the next month or two... hopefully. So I'm hoping that I can get a little group together so that we can share the room costs... we could probably spend a weekend up there for about $200 a person... not bad... actually less than that if we stay outside the city, but I'll have to see how far the T runs out. Hmm. Sounds like an adventure!!

Go to Untouchable Films' website - www.ufilms.comand download the teaser for the film I did last summer... yeah, we look nothing like high school kids, do we? haha... oh well. There's also a clip from the oven incident... some funny shit. I can't wait until the whole thing is done... originally I was thinking that it would be finished pretty quickly after we shot it, but here we are 6+ months later. :-P~ oh well! I hope that they do something else next semester... I want to do another film... it was so much fun! I really need to get a headshot done. Of course it would help if I could decide on a haircolor for more than a month. :-P~

what a weekend!

I bought my bed this weekend! Yay! Bought it from Mattress Discounters - they were having a 15 month no payments / 0% financing offer going on, so I went ahead and just bought the whole thing. I got just a standard frame, didn't get the headboard & footboard and whatnot - the ones that they had were on the pricey side & I didn't see anything that I couldn't live without. The salesguy was really scary though, he hit on me the entire time and I almost walked out of the store.... But I thought that maybe since he thought I was pretty he'd give me a good deal, lol. I think that I got a good discount... it ended up being about a 30% discount, but I'm sure the mark-up is so high on those damn things that 30% isn't that great...

Saturday night was crazy fun... I think that we had something like 11 people in our group when all was said & done! Initially there were 9 of us, though....... Me, Angie, Rebecca, Tiffany, Sara (Ang's little sister), Pilar (Mike's former coworker), Adam, Mike, and Rob (Mike's brother). At any rate, once everyone was finally ready (I was ready when I got there, thank you very much!) we go out to our cars... both me & Rob were driving, so Adam, Ang & Sara started heading out to Roxie when Adam realized that he'd lost his wallet. At least he realized it before we left! After about 10 minutes of frantic searching & telling everyone else to go ahead (7 people in an extended cab pick-up... I bet [haha, i typed bed... oops!] that was fun!) Adam found his wallet & we got on the road... I was quite proud of myself for finding the Belvedere since I hadn't been there in ~3 years. So we get there & meet up with everyone.....the 13th floor was packed and we unfortunately got a table right next to a speaker. Ouch. It was sooo loud. Fortunately someone grabbed us a new table by the band... it was some kind of salsa band or something, reminded me of HFS. :-( It was great people watching in that place, I swear... there was this short & fat balding guy on the dance floor that was dancing with these beautiful women... I'm thinking "what the hell???" Adam told me that he ran into the guy in the club & found out that he's actually a dance instructor & they come there about an hour before the club opens & he teaches dance lessons. Thought that was pretty bizarre! After we moved to our new table, Meredith (another NCHS grad) and her boyfriend Ben showed up... it was really cool being able to talk to all of these people... in our entire group, there were only 2 people that didn't go to NCHS!! How crazy is that??? Of course Rob went 10 years before most of us, but that still counts, I guess. Had some fun talks with pretty much everyone there. Oh, and while all this is going on, my friend Claire (from Prof Paoletti's English class last semester) is text messaging me & telling me that we should come down to this place called Good Love on Boston street... she said that they have great dance music... By this time, Tiffany had found this "crazy Irish boy" (that's what she called him!) and was talking to him....I guess that he & his friends wanted to go somewhere else called Gecko's on Fleet (they said it was 3128 Fleet or something like that), so we rounded up everyone and somehow managed to get down into the lobby. Now none of us really had any clue where this place was, but Tiffany was being pulled into a cab with the crazy Irish boy & co... I think that Ang and Becca took a friend of his hostage so that they'd get Tiff back, lol... but I'm not sure exactly what happened with that. So I tell Mike & Rob that I need to follow them wherever we're going because I don't know how to get there... Meredith & Ben said the same thing... so we're thinking that Mike & Rob are coming through our parking lot to show us the way... Adam was with me and Sara had hopped in with Meredith & Ben. I had none of their cell numbers, of course... and I ended up following Ben through the city on a wild goose chase... he had no clue where the hell they were going & he was getting directions transferred to him from Sara who was on the phone with Mike & Ang (they were all in Rob's truck)... oh, it was a huge mess. After driving around the city for 20 minutes, I was ready to bag it & find Claire down at Good Love... so I kept trying to pull up with Ben & co to tell them that we'd just see them at Tiff's, but the light would change as soon as we got up to them... I ended up pulling ahead & taking the lead and thankfully found Gecko's without too much more frustration. So we get in Gecko's AND THEY'RE NOT THERE!!! By "they" I'm referring to Mike, Rob, Ang, Becca & Pilar. By this time it's about 1 a.m., so me, Adam, Sara, Meredith & Ben decided to hell with everyone else, we're staying here... haha. I find out from Sara that Mike, Rob, Ang, Becca & Pilar had gone back to Mike & Tiff's & were walking over to Shorty's, 2 blocks from their house and Tiff had gone over to the crazy Irish boy's place. So the five of us shot pool until closing time and then went back to Mike & Tiff's.... Sara and Ang were mad at each other, so Sara decided that she was going to stay with Meredith & Ben that night & they would take her to her car in Annapolis the next day. Of course there's more to it than that, but that's the bulk of it & all that I'm admitting to, haha! Fun, fun. The next day we went to breakfast at Jimmy's in Fells Point... I say breakfast, but it was actually noon. After we got back, we got into a discussion over who was the best James Bond & of course there was a disagreement, which led to a discussion of how hot Pierce Brosnan is & how he looked in the Thomas Crown Affair, so we ended up watching TCA that afternoon. Yep. Didn't get back to my mom's until 4 p.m. I was completely exhausted & watched football in bed for the rest of the day. Heh. Speaking of which, it looks like my Superbowl prediction was wrong... so now I think it's going to be Pats vs. Eagles. I dunno, though... the Steelers might surprise me this weekend, plus it's in Pittsburgh... so we'll see.

Wow... I'll actually be watching the championships in my own place!!! How cool is that? I'm so excited.... :-)

Hmm. Just talked to Paish & she's coming home to the shore for part of the week so I'm thinking I might need to be making a trip across the ditch tomorrow or Wednesday. That's it for now....... Will post tomorrow hopefully.

btw it freaking snowed last night and Roxie is all salty now... she is absolutely disgusting... she really needs to be washed, but if it snows on wednesday then i'll just have to do it again. :-/

Just got done dying my hair... red again, of course.. . the red just doesn't stay. That's the third time in as many months!

I didn't post about this, but my friend Rob (a fellow LC follower) lost his battle with cancer last week & his service is today... so I'm going to that. I'm hoping that some people that I know will be there so I can sit with them... I didn't know any of his family or anything. After that I'll probably go to good old Glen Burnie to shop the mattress stores... I've decided that I'm going to go with a queen instead of taking my mom's old full bed... a queen is more practical & I'll probably have it for the next ??? years. Mattress discounters is having some kind of special financing, so what the hell... I'll be able to get something nice. I deserve it, right?

After that, tonight is Ang's bday celebration, so me, Ang, Tiff, Adam, Mike, Sara and a whole bunch of other people are going to the 13th floor. I think. I invited Dyanna from work, too... so I'm going to have to call her later on to coordinate. I hope that it doesn't end up being too many people. Eh.... oh well. Talked to Stef earlier today & she was going to talk to TJ to see if he's up to going... I hope that they come.

Well, I guess that's it... I've got to get ready.

Hope everyone has/is having a good weekend!

I can't get this damn song out of my head.........

I should just put it on repeat so I get tired of it and I don't want to listen to it anymore. The song????? Why can't I....... I never really listened to the lyrics until a little while ago and now I'm just hooked. It was always a catchy song, but now it's just.............. aha!! I understand that song now!

Lots of fun. Of course I knew that it would be.

I feel like I got run over by a mack truck this morning, though. Got to sleep around 1 a.m. and woke up with a migraine at 3:30 a.m. Oh, it sucked. This wasn't the average pulsating pain behind my left eye that I usually get - this was the full-blown move and you'll throw up kind. Not fun. Somehow I managed to get down my Imitrex and after curling up in the fetal position was able to get back to sleep sometime around 5... and here I am at work!

Meet the Fockers was hilarious...... go see it.

I forgot to mention the most important thing -- I've decided on my place!! :) Of course, I'd pretty much decided as soon as I started talking to Heather (my new roomie), but I wasn't 100% sure until I saw the place & met her. She's extremely cool & laid back and I think that we're going to get along great. At any rate, it's not too far from where I used to live -- it's still in Pasadena, near High Point elementary & Tick Neck park. I'll be moving in next weekend (22nd), so I'm very excited. I can't believe that I'm almost 25 and have never technically lived on my own. I mean, I'll still have a roommate, so I won't be alone - alone, but it's the first time that I haven't lived with a guy or my parents. That's pretty pathetic, isn't it?

Oh well, everyone has to start sometime!

Now the problem is just going to be finding the happy balance between school, work & play. I think that I'm responsible enough now to distribute those things well... :) Yay. I'm just so damn happy. Change doesn't always have to be a bad thing... I think that I went through most of the emotions relating to this decision a long time ago, so now that I finally acted on everything I feel so much better. I was getting pretty down in November & December and now I just feel so much... lighter... that's the right word for it. I have just as much (if not more) responsibility, but I just feel better about everything, because it's all on my terms. I don't even know if any of this is making sense. Heh...... who cares anyway! Here I am, rambling inanely... no false advertising here! The only false advertising I have is thanks to my Frederick's water bra that I adore...... oh, did I say that out loud? Haha!!!

*sigh*

Today is a good day. Work is busy, but today is a good day.
