Happy New Year!
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: Cowboys vs. Rams
Topic: Football
Just wanted to wish everyone a safe & happy new year! 2006 will be a much better year... it has to be!

Watched the Redskins pummel the Eagles today... and what a fine day it was!

Made chicken parmesan tonight for dinner for my baby... I feel really gross, I over-ate.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get some cleaning done and do some estate stuff that I've been putting off... I have a lot of mail to go through and some bills to pay.

Tomorrow evening, Brian and I are going to my Aunt Mary's for dinner... I'm pretty excited about it!

Well, I'm off to bed soon......... happy 2006!

Time for my super bowl prediction
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: jimmy eat world

My prediction for this year:

AFC: Colts over Steelers
NFC: Eagles over Falcons
Super Bowl: Eagles over Colts

These were my predictions for last year:
NFC Division: Philly vs. St. Louis
AFC Division: New England vs. Kansas City
Super Bowl: Philly vs. New England

I guess that I didn't choose the actual winner of the super bowl; I made those predictions with a few weeks left in the season.

We always find a way to lose, don't we? Other teams find ways to win, we find ways to lose. And the asshole Cowboy fan at work is back at it again. I did have one victory yesterday - I took first place in our Fantasy League - won the super bowl. But I could care less. Here's the lovely message that I found on the message board:

Great Job Pummelers!! Coach Grande needs to give Coach Gibbs a few pointers!

What a dick.

Just wait until next year when the Skins get their shit together.

Arrogance suits you well, Bryan. You may have won the battle, but not the war.

If the Skins had won, I wouldn't have gloated. Inwardly, yes. But I wouldn't be quite as smug and idiotic as a Cowboys fan. Cowboys fans are a special breed. Speaking of which, here's an old joke:

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Cowboys fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were Cowboys fans too.

Not really sure what a Cowboy fan was, but wanting to be just like their beloved teacher, their hands exploded into the air.

There was however, one exception. A little girl named Susie did not go along with the crowd. The teacher asked her why she decided to be different.

"Cause I'm not a Cowboys fan."

"Then what are you," asked the teacher.

"I'm a proud Redskins fan," boasts the little girl.

A little perturbed now, her teacher asks why she is a Redskins fan.

"Well, my Mom and Dad are Redskins fans, and so I am a Redskins fan too."

A little more aggravated the teacher exclaims, "That's no reason. What if your Mom was a moron, and your Dad was a moron? What would you be then?"

Susie paused and smiled, "Then I guess I'd be a Cowboys fan!"

all I want for Christmas

Is a win against the Cowboys. That's all I want, really.

Col Mustard has been making some incredible posts lately, so make sure that you check him out. My links are on the left side of the page. One of the posts that he made had a link to a blog from a Mosul hospital doc... I'll put it up later.

Hope that everyone had a safe & happy Christmas. I love you all!

... you know how they say that teams find a way to win? Well, the Redskins ALWAYS find a way to lose. That's the frustrating thing about being a Redskins fan. We have great players. We have an incredible defense. One of our probowl linebackers has even been out most of the season, but our defense always keeps us in the game. The frustrating thing is that we also have good players on offense, but because of just one or two bone-headed throws, bad officiating, or bad play-calling we always botch it. Patrich Ramsey has an incredible arm, he's tough, and one day he will be a great QB. People are so quick to throw him under the bus for the interception that he threw in the end zone last night, but that wasn't entirely his fault. The smart play there should have been to call a run play, but for some reason Gibbs (or his senile offensive coordinator) called pass. Hell, I don't know, Ramsey may have changed the play anyway. It was so frustrating. They have less than 2 minutes left, are on the ~25 yard line, with 2 timeouts... score is 14-17 and you're playing the Eagles. What the hell do you THINK you'd do? Gee, I think that I'd try to take as much time off the clock as possible and get the ball in the end zone. They could have even kicked a field goal to tie the game and send it into OT. Ugh. But no, let's throw to the TE in the end zone. No, Patsy never throws a TD pass to Cooley. Doh! Hell, I could have picked that throw off myself!!! I can be pissed off that the Skins lost that game, and I will be bitter until next season about the way this one has gone, BUT from what I've seen over the past 3 or 4 weeks is that this team is finally coming together. I think that it's entirely possible for them to win their last 3 games! They'd better at least beat the Cowboys. God I hate the Cowboys. At any rate, the Redskins are looking a lot better, and although I was hoping for a miracle during Gibbs' first year back, I suppose I can be happy with this latter part of the season. Really, 3 of the last 4 games they've played have been against TOUGH teams (2 being the Eagles, one being the Steelers... both 12-1 teams!!) and they've hung in there against those opponents... so although they didn't win those games, they gave a damn good effort... and if you even look at the stats from the game, it was pretty evenly matched, and if anything was in the Redskin's favor, except for all of the ridiculous penalties.

1st Downs
Eagles 15 Redskins 19

Efficiency
3rd Down Eagles 3-13 (23%) Redskins 5-16 (31%)
4th Down Eagles 0-0 (0%) Redskins 0-1 (0%)
Red Zone Eagles 2-4 (50%) Redskins 2-2 (100%)
Goal-To-Go Eagles 2-4 (50%)Redskins 2-2 (100%)

Total Yards
Eagles 312 Redskins 312

Offensive Plays
Eagles 57 Redskins 74

Passing Yards
Eagles 245 Redskins 224

Comp-Att (%)
Eagles 21-38 (55%) Redskins 29-46 (63%)

Rushing Yards
Eagles 67 Redskins 88

Turnovers
Eagles 2 Redskins 1

Fumbles lost
Eagles 1 Redskins 0

Interceptions thrown
Eagles 1 Redskins 1

HERE is where we got hurt:
Penalties-yards

Eagles 5-41 Redskins 12-137 Of course about 1/3 - 1/2 of those yards all came off of the BS pass interference call on Sean Taylor

Time of possession

Eagles 26:03 Redskins 33:57

If you ask me, everything was pretty much in the Skins favor, except for the penalties. *shrug*

Such is life. We'll beat the hell out of the 49ers next week, at least.

........(here comes the) BUT.......

watching them play makes me physically ill. I always get so nauseaus (sp?) during close games. As usual, they've had a couple calls go against them.. most notably a pass interference call against Sean Taylor covering T.O. It was absolute BS... but whatever, I should be used to the botched calls by now... and on a 3rd & long, Westbrook rushed for x yards (something like 16), and he got a VERY good spot on the ball. It should have been 4th & 1 or 4th & 2 even, but they gave him 4th and inches...... fortunately the Eagles punted, but still.

So I've got my fingers crossed..... I've been flipping back and forth from the Survivor finale and the Skins game. Chris won Survivor, thankfully... he was the only one that deserved it. Guess thats it, halftime is probably over. Good night!

Man, I've really run the gamut of emotions today, haven't I? ANyway, the cause for my celebration? For Christmas, Kurt got me tickets to the Vikings-Skins game on 1/2!!! I am sooo happy! It's going to be a busy few weeks... because....
12/11 lunch w/ dad & christmas party at 7
12/12 football, of course
12/13 finals
12/17 I get paid which means last minute xmas shopping
12/18 having mom over for lunch, then concert that night
12/19 football
12/21 the xmas invasion begins, and CI concert that night
12/25 xmas
12/26 the skins are going to beat the crap out of the cboyz
12/30 shaff's party
12/31 NYE
1/1 Stef's housewarming/master's grad/holiday party in salisbury

and then
1/2 Skins vs. Vikings......... WOOHOO!!

Funny, I've been to more Ravens/Browns games (3) than I have Skins games. Isn't that strange?

Okay, this is the final entry, I swear. I'm too tired to do any more anyway, I think this is my 5th one!

The offense has finally arrived! A few weeks too late, but it's here nonetheless. First time they've scored 30+ points since the second game of the 2003 season. Pretty sad. But I'm going to revel in the victory while I can! Those little birdies better look out next week -- the Skins are back in action. They'd better not hurt T.O., though... I need him for my fantasy playoffs.

Wow.... 50/50 finally made a big play!

Haven't seen Patsy look that happy all season. :-P~

How much I hate the announcers on CBS??? They're not objective at all... they bug the hell out of me.

Patsy is keeping the Skins alive right now and they're not giving him any credit. Bastards. I still think that they're going to lose, but who knows. 2 minutes left and the Bungles have 3 and 5 or something like that. Don't count out my boys yet! They always play close games and this is no exception. Hopefully Gibbs will stick with Patsy now since he can see what he can do. They play the Eagles next week, so that's going to be no easy task!
