Weird busy day
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: Joe Bonamassa -- Miss you, hate you
It's been a strange day.

This morning I did the table for Fuzz's CCEPS SWM seminar thing (stands for County council of engineers, planners and surveyors / stormwater management)... ate too many donuts. It must really be true what they say about the simple carbs, because the number of donuts that I ate should have filled me up, but I was still hungry. No, I'm not saying how many I had, but it was too many! After that, I went back to the office, sent some emails, ordered the pizzas for the lunch meeting today. I was so happy, they actually came on time! The people at that Papa John's are so incompetent, I swear. There was a different delivery guy today though, so that's probably why they were on time. The other guy is a jerk. He actually complained about his tip one time!! What a loser.

I was running around trying to make sure that everyone had everything that they needed for the meeting, and then my mom called. Told her that I'd call her back in a few minutes, but I never got a chance to. I guess she's bored sitting at home, so she figured that she'd call me at work? Who knows.
Anyway, I was about to call her back when Ron (one of my 20 bosses and a VP) asked me if I wanted to go to lunch. So of course I gratiously accepted! We went to Adam's Ribs in Severna Park where I had a tasty caesar chicken salad. It was nice, Ron is a funny person. It was also nice to hear that he feels the same way as I do about a few people at work.

I also talked to Anthony today for the first time in a while, we were supposed to get together for lunch when he got back from his coast guard 'cruise'. Anyway, he needs a date for his Christmas party and I'm trying to convince someone that I work with to be his date. We'll see what happens with that, but I don't have high hopes for it. Either way, we're going to lunch on friday at this seafood place in Glen Burnie. Should be fun.

Well, I have to get some stuff finished for work. I'll try to be good and update tomorrow or friday, I'm a little worried about the weather for my trip downy ocean on Saturday.

Post turkey and pre Christmas
Mood:  not sure

Ahh, so my plan of keeping my blog updated hasn't worked out so well!

C'est la vie.

Well, Thanksgiving is over, it went fast and without a hitch... I made pumpkin cheesecake and twice-baked sweet potatoes (what's tater's, precious??) and nobody got food poisoning, so I would say that it was a success!! We had over Kurt's mom, brother Kraig and my grandfather (mom's side).

Friday was devoted to LOTR, we had a marathon of sorts. Kurt's mom hadn't seen any of the movies, so we introduced her to the extended version of the FOTR (that's Fellowship of the Ring for those non-savvy). After she left and Kurt and I couldn't come up with anything to do, we watched the extended version of the Two Towers (aka TTT). Still not LOTR'd out, though. I'm ready for ROTK (return of the king)... it comes out on the 17th of this month.

On Saturday, I spent the day with my dad. We went to Arundel Mills where he bought me two pairs of shoes for Christmas, a nice pair of black dress shoes and a pair of brown sketchers for casual wear. I'm so happy, my old shoes were looking pretty sad... my other pair of dress shoes had holes in the sole! After that, we were going to go to the cemetary to visit my grandparent's grave, but it was a hoppin' day for funerals apparently and some guy who didn't have a firm grip on the english language told us to come back after half an hour. So we decided to bag that idea, since it was freezing and windy to boot! We ate at a Chinese restaurant that was one of my grandmother's favorites. I had honey sesame chicken and my dad had shrimp chow mein, I think. My fortune cookie was pretty lame, as they have been for some time. Whatever happened to the cool fortunes?

After lunch, we went to the Leisure world house... I got quite a few of my grandmother's Christmas things, ornaments, Santas, a ceramic Christmas tree and an urn. There were two large urns that I would have liked, but a) I don't have enough room for them at home and b) We didn't have enough room for them in my dad's car. We were packed in there like sardines, my dad could barely shift gears!

Sunday morning Kurtis and I went to pick out our Christmas tree. I was freezing my ass off because I forgot to bring a jacket. We picked a really nice one, but when we got home discovered that it was about a foot too high. Kurtis did quite a bit of work to get it in the house and in the stand. I later apologized to him for getting mad last year when he picked out the tree without me. Better late than never, right? Besides, I want Santa to bring me lots of presents this year and I have to make up for some of the bad things. ;-)

So the house is mostly decorated, the tree is up, lighted and mostly decorated. I wish that the cats would leave presents alone, because I really want to wrap presents and put them under the tree. Yes I know that it's early! I just like the way that it looks. :)

I'm going to try to be good and keep this thing updated. I swear!!!

Weekend
Mood:  sad
Now Playing: Enya -- The council of Elrond (from LOTR FOTR)
I had my therapy appointment Friday morning
My weekend was about average... Friday night Kurtis and I watched "Bringing down the house" with Queen Latifah and Steve Martin. Do yourself a favor and skip that one. It looks like it would be hilarious, but they just couldn't pull it off.

Don't have time to finish this update, so maybe I'll post some more later. We'll see.

The day is winding down and I'm quite disgusted right now. My boss is sucking on a lollipop and is making gross slurping noises. He seems to have a lot of problems related to eating. In quite a few meetings, he has managed to disgust everyone around him (except for the other person who eats similarly). I can't wait to get out of here and go home. I've made my shopping list for Thanksgiving, but I'll talk more about that tomorrow.

Let's see if I can keep up with this thing. I've only tried blogging once before and I think that it only lasted a few days. I'm putting a link to my blog from my website, so hopefully I can keep people more updated on the happenings in my life.

Last night, Kurtis and I watched the extended version of the Two Towers... it was incredible. I can't wait until Return of the King comes out. :)

This morning I felt like I'd actually lost some weight, I think that I may have. Been doing some portion control and haven't been eating as much anyway since I got my last two wisdom teeth out. Boy am glad that's over with!

Work is busy right now and I'm just procrastinating doing it. Yuck. It's almost time for lunch, too... I'm pretty hungry. Perhaps I'll write later. We'll see.
