In early years, (1990 - 1994)  I won grand champion at the County and District levels (3 awards for 30 second radio spots and 1 for extemporaneous speaking) and I also made it to 4 state level public speaking competitions.  In addition to public speaking, I participated in talent shows, winning first place in several.  I was also inducted into the National Thespian Society in 1997.

I took voice lessons from Carmen Mason in 2003 -- until I ran out of time and money.  I also took voice lessons with a wonderful folk artist named Chris Noyes (I do not believe that she has a personal webpage at the moment) when I was 16, but I did not stick with it for any longer than a year.

I also had the wonderful opportunity to meet Chris Isaak on July 19, 2003 in Atlantic City and he told me to drop my voice lessons and get a gig in a bar!  Haha... well, I'm not going to follow the dropping the lessons part, but I think that the rest of his advice was very good, "No smoking, no drinking, no drugs, no talking when you're tired and no yelling."  I thanked him and said, "Maybe someday I'll be able to open for you."  His response was, "It could be the other way around, things can turn around pretty fast."  What a great guy!

Currently I am working full-time and taking evening courses at AACC.  Because of my busy schedule, I don't have the time to pursue too many artistic endeavors.  Therefore, I will primarily be auditioning for films which are being shot on weekends or that I can work into my school and work schedule.  For more information on anything that I'm doing artistically, check my blog and select the topic "Artistic endeavors."
